IB programme in KMB

IB Travelogue 

~Introduction to IB~

Never knew what is IB programme in my entire life. 
"The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme " in Kolej Mara 
Banting (KMB).After getting my SPM result, Frankly, I was "addicted" in applying all of 
the scholarships. Always keep updated from www.afterschool.my and I have save every single information about the scholarships for me to always aware about the dateline, the result and interview date. 
I applied almost 9 scholarships with different courses; 

Accountancy - MAYBANK, KHAZANAH NEGARA, PETRONAS
Engineering  - JPA, MJHEP (JAD)
Medicine       - MARA

Lately, starting 2014; many companies focused on the potential job in the future. There are bunch of scholarship for the engineering courses and accountancy.

My father once said;

"Wherever you go, You can achieve what you want, if you strive! Just believe in yourself ! You can do it! You are who you think!" 

So, whatever my courses is , I should strive for the best! In sya allah.

The day I became KMBians on 8th July 2014 as second intake student.

Whats with the IB program?

MARA offers scholarship for all of the SPM students to pursue their study in
many courses to the European countries; United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia 
In Kolej Mara Banting, only IB programme is offered with 2 years preparation; 
4 semester. 

Every semester is about for 4 to 5 months. Within these months, there will be
a semester break for one week. At the end of the fifth months, starting with 2 days study leave, examination will be held for 2 weeks.

For curriculum, there will be 6 subjects in this programme with 42 points altogether
Each subject carry 7 points; 85 and above.
~3 Subjects for Higher Level
~3 Subjects for Standard level

For medicine course, I am taking:
HL- BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, ENGLISH
SL - MATH, MALAY , MATH

For IB core it include this 3 elements with 3 points altogether:
1) Extended essay, 4000 words, the topic from one of the six subjects
2) Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
3) Creative. Action. Service ( CAS)

Life at KMB
Alhamdulillah! Allahu akbar! I just finish my semester 1 at 28th December 2014.
Subhanallah! Semester 1 is totally great! And I have changed a lot!
From my point of view, this programme is the best ever!
It is dynamic and challenging! You have to be strong internally and externally to survive in this place.

Living in KMB, the class starts at 8 am until 2.20 pm. Currently, our director has
changed our timetable and made us starts at 7.30 am;reciting the MATHURAT in the Hall. With this new time table, I always aware with my sleeping time so that I will prepare myself early in the morning.

As a second intake student, with  other 26 friends, cabin is our class. The " M14F" class. The coolest class ever! We will be in this journey together for 4 semester 
and may our friendship last forever.

I am grateful to have them! They are incredible and amazing with all unique personality. There are 20 girls and 8 boys in my class. 

Ya Allah, thank you for everything, I believe there must be "hikmah" to be in
 this class, meeting all of these people and being in KMB.

In the class, There are 2 timetable for the curriculum subjects and it will alternately changed; 
During T1, the class ends at 1.30 pm everyday except for Monday because 
there will be a Mentor- Mentee session until 2.20 pm.
While T2, the class ends at 2.30 pm everyday except for Tuesday or Wednesday, 
I will spent my entire day for CAS  activity and JPAM (marching)

For this semester, I have remedial class for Math and Chemistry every Monday 
at 3 pm until 4 pm. AND within this 1 hour period, I will sit for topic test. The
marks for this topic test will be carried in my semester exam. It is good!
Different from my high school, as the test will be held every 3 months. 

As I got more free time during T1, I will spend my evening, jogging with my 
friends on the track around KMB or if its raining, we will get to the gym every
Tuesday and Thursday. It was great to move my feet and stay healthy.

In KMB, each student has their own USRAH family, Conducted by 2 seniors and 
usually we meet every Friday at 12.30 pm until 1.30 pm.

Yes! It pretty much like getting back to  the school again. Calling the lectures 
" TEACHERS". There are 5 meals a day, outing overnight is allowed during the weekends only and you have to get yourself discipline or else you are in the 
hot soup.. and its boiling 100 Celcius...

How about the facilities? KMB got KFC! Really? It is KMB Food Court. Open 
everyday in the evening. The food is delicious and nice! We got KOPERASI. 
Many things are sold there and lastly KMB has DOBY service. I used to send 
my clothes twice a week.

"Dekat KMB ni, semua benda jadi; jerebu; kemarau berbulan- bulan sebab  air takde; serangan lalat.... Kalau tempat ni tak menjadikan awak kuat, cikgu tak tahu lah..."

So... This is the reality of KMB, my senior once said, KMB is like "Al- Kahfi" - the 
cave. The cave that save us from this "DYING" world. When it is the time you 
are in other country, that moment you realised how KMB has made you STRONG 
internally and externally. In sya allah.

And I more thing that I love about IB Programme is that... all information, notes, tonnes of exercise, tips, samples about IB or the subjects, just at your fingertips. JUST GOOGLE! 


Totally, being IB SURVIVOR in kmb turned me a lot to be a new person.  
I am so grateful for my fate to be here. Alhamdulillah.
Indeed, Allah swt is the best planner. =) 
It just the beginning of the chapter, there is a long journey to go

KEEP THE MOMENTUM & STAY FOCUS

Phone Call

It was Friday. The morning was pale. As usual, I prepared as early as 6.30 a.m.

I walked to school with new Hope. To be always focus in the class and give my 

very best in every task that was given by the teacher.

Actually that morning, the way the cloud embraced the sun, making it as the 

barrier for the light to shine, IT was the most beautiful morning I ever seen! 

The Orange-reddish colour has conquered the part of the sky.

But, it just me!

All of my sorrow feeling was sank deeply in my heart. I just hold my tears. 

Acting strong. Strong enough to accept the reality. The reality that they are not 

with me! And it is impossible for them to be around me. At that moment

I MISS MAMA AND AYAH!

During USRAH, sitting in the LT 1, the music reminds me of them. I burst into

tears and its really hurt me. 

I miss them so BADLY! I can't hold it! After lunch, I dialed mama's phone number 

and hoping that she answer my call because usually she will take a nap around 3 o'clock after getting back from school.

After a while

Turt...turt....turt..... This is the mailbox for the number, Please leave a message 

after tone..

The called ended!

That night, I called them again. Again and again. but, no answer at all!

It was the worst day for me!

When you miss someone, and you can't hug him/her, and not hearing their 

voice saying " Goodnight my dear, Jangan tidur lambat."

It was the most painful moment to me.

I closed my eyes, laid my head on the pillow; thinking of good things, maybe they were so tired and went to bed early, or maybe the "line is busy" AND

it was the story of the day.

Allah Al- Mighty has shown to me that if we miss someone badly, we will do 

anything to reach them. I called my parents many times JUST to hear their voice

Then, clearly

"If Allah Al- Mighty MISS us; because we are TOO FAR from HIM, then He will called us by giving us test; The test that make us closer to HIM,  BECAUSE Allah swt LOVES us and SAVES us from the Dunya"

Subhanallah!

Be grateful because Allah swt has called you.

Then...How sweet our creator, Allah Ar- Rahim, The next week

My parents came to visit me at my college during Deepavali.

They travel from our home just to visit me and my brother

The Purpose of life

What is your purpose of life? And is that all about?

The moment you open your eyes this morning, 
the first thing you have to do is REACH your PHONE,
Checking on Instagram to see how many people liking your photos;
Checking on Whatsapp to see who is the  first person to wish your birthday;
Checking on Yahoo to see if there is a letter saying you got the scholarship;
Checking on "his" or " her" message;
or maybe checking on the time
because YOU ARE TOO LATE for school and work
The reality in the society...
How the DUNYA has made you astray
ALLAHU AKBAR!

Just take a moment and praise Allah swt for the breath He gave you
TODAY. Alhamdulillah

This is the typical life cycle

The story of life is not always "sweet", and "happily ever after"

Each people has different story because 

Life is FULL of Adventure!!!

Allah swt has mentioned in the Al-Quran Al- Karim, 

in Surah Al-Balad 90 verse 4:

Struggle make us STRONG! YOU ARE INCREDIBLE MY DEAR..

The QUESTION ABOUT LIFE is... 

is that all? Just that? then we die

What if you die before getting married?

You never get the chance to know who is your love ONE

How tragic...

Without deny

There must be a purpose why we EXIST in this world!

Every MUSLIM has to know why they are Muslim

Every people has to know why you live

The answer is in the Quran itself:

There are 2 purpose we live today

Firstly! The main purpose we EXIST in this BEAUTIFUL world is

in Surah Ad- Dhariyat 51 verse 56:

He is the ONLY GOD that deserve to be worshiped by us!

because of...

He has chosen you to be in this Earth (Dunya), 

Allah Ar- rahman ; has given you everything!

The beauty, the intelligence, the fame, the wealth...

Allah Ar- rahim; Loves us so much because of that

he send Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to guide us

so that we come back to our hometown; THE JANNAH (heaven)

The second one is in Surah Al- Baqarah verse 30:

And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: " Verily, I am going to 

place( of mankind) a Khalifah (caliph) on earth. "They said : " Will You place

therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood,- while we 

glorify You with praises and thanks (Exalted be You above all that they 

associate with You as partners) and sanctify You." He (Allah) said: " I know 

that which you do not know." 

*therein: within

*sanctify: glorify, highest purify

Yes! To become CALIPH! The Khalifah; The leader!

What we suppose to do?

We suppose to guide people to worship Allah al- Mighty!

The ONLY LORD!

To make us SUJOOD and OBEY Allah swt

To make peace in this world

and

To fulfill our duty on

"Amal Makruf Nahi Munkar"

Enjoin good and forbid evil

The Chosen One

The song by Maher Zain is about our beloved PROPHET MUHAMMAD 
(peace be upon him).
The most influenced Man in the history!
He was  the one who convey all of the teachings of Islam.
With only his soft action he can attract people to convert into 
Islam and beer witness that Allah swt is the ONLY god.

I love this song so much!
And I believe we are also 
THE CHOSEN ONE! 

I love Surah An Nahl 16 verse 78 because it really related to us.

And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers 
not knowing a thing. And He gave you hearing, sight and hearts 
that you might give thanks (to Allah).

Alhamdulillah.

From this verse we can divide into three part:

Firstly, "And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers"
We should be grateful and thank Allah for ALL of His Mercy to us;
Before we were brought to this world, we are in the world of ROH,
We should be grateful of who we are now,
They are so many ROH there, Then, Allah swt has chose us 
to be in this world, to observe all of the wonderful creations that he made
just for US!

Then, He has brought you to the womb of a mother, The mother 
that live after the Islam has reached  to all over the world,
NOT in the era of Jahiliyah, where the people with so many
ego, REFUSE to worship the ONLY lord, Allah Al- Mighty.

During this era of Jahiliyah, all of the baby girl was buried
alive by their own father; Being born as a lady, we should be 
grateful! Allah has made us live today!
Alhamdulillah


Secondly, "not knowing a thing". Allah swt is the ONLY 
one who gave us everything; Human is the best creation because
we have "akal" or brain; The brain to evaluate particular
things. And it is Human's nature (fitrah) to act on GOOD things 
and to be GOOD people. Allah has give us the knowledge.
Who you are today, how smart you are,  how people 
praise you because of your word is BECAUSE of His blessing!
it is JUST because of ALLAH'S blessing.
You have no right to show off all the things you have,
to underestimate people, to disobey His word
because He has gave you everything!
You just His hamba (slave). 
If He can create all the things in the both world,
Without a second, he can take everything that you have.
Then, you should be grateful of what you have now.
Alhamdulillah


Lastly, "And He gave you hearing, sight and hearts that you
might give thanks (to Allah)".
This 3 components are interconnected with each other.
We should be grateful for our life TODAY
because we can still hear the music that we love
the hip hop, ballad, rock, all the type of music,
Just to make our self calm and enjoy the moment,
We still have eyes to watch all of our favourite film, artist;
the Korean, Philipines, Disney movies, all the reality shows.
We still have heart. To feel the love, to express all of our 
emotions; happy, sad, anger, hate, "falling in love"  

BUT....
Is that all about? Is that the purpose of our life is?
What happen to our future hereafter? that will definitely happen
The day of JUDGEMENT!
What if our last breath is just in a few seconds?
What about our self?
You have the answer...

Just close your eyes and think about  what have you done  this 
morning, this afternoon and  just now ....

BE GRATEFUL of All of HIS NIKMAT from the day you were born.
As we are THE CHOSEN ONE;
we should worship Him with our whole heart and LOVES 
Him the way He loves us.
and There must be something Allah wants from us
as He has chosen us to be in this Earth.
He must pick the best of the best.
Which is US! to be MUSLIM! 
to be CALIPH in this world!

to make sure that we get better life that their childhood time;
All of the expenses $$$$ which now probably reach MILLIONS,
is TOO MUCH!
tidak terkira banyaknya!

As the time passed by, it is 2014 now, the era of 
technology, all the gadgets
Laptop, Phone, Camera and all of the 
social network , Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram
MNC, Telegram
Is TOTALLY different with their time

Don't let this technology made us far from them
We should know when is the time for our self and 
FOR THEM

As we are growing UP;
Do remember that
they also GROWING OLD!

Sementara mereka masih HIDUP, 
hargailah setiap detik bersama mereka
Give all  we get to help them...
Having THEM is the NIKMAT for us
and this NIKMAT will be asked soon in the AKHIRAT

Allah swt will ask us, 
every thing we do to them.
every word we say to them
every sound we made when they need our help
that don't even take A MINUTE!
every act that we do to them, either good or bad

They are our BEST FRIENDS!
They know every single thing
Our attitude that others people might not know
They trust us, 
Maybe one ever thought that 
" I want freedom, A freedom to make a choice"
"Who I want to be, an engineer, doctor or I just want to become a singer"
"Why can't they understand me?"

I know we all have grown up, free to make your own decision
BUT,
they have live for 30, 40, 50 years, they have encounter 
many things, the sorrow, the happiness, being cheated with
someone that they trust, all of the struggle made 
their perception and personality now.

JUST BELIEVE they know the BEST. In sya allah.
They just want the BEST for us!

Love them and PRAY FOR them, for their health, 
MAY ALLAH SWT loves them the way they loves us when we
were little.
MAY ALLAH SWT bless them in the BOTH WORLDS.
Al-fatihah to them. May Allah swt reward all the kindness 
to them.

ISLAM? nearly about 373,000,000 results of information in the GOOGLE!
WOW! There must be something special about ISLAM . ABSOLUTELY !
Subhanallah! What is Islam? Islam the religion that only believe Allahis the ONLY God of the both worlds, Universe and hereafter and believe that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the LAST MESSENGER of Allah swt. With 5 pillars of Islam, 6 pillars of Faith, The HOLY AL-QURAN  and HADITHS has made this religion suit with the human nature. In the Quran; Surah Al- Baqarah 2 : 131

When his Lord said to him, "Submit", he said "I have submitted 

[in Islam] to the Lord of the worlds." 

MUSLIM?  is an Arabic word. Derives from the circle word in the

verse. The meaning of this word is SUBMIT. I can summarize that

Muslim is a person who put himself and fully devoted to Allah swt.

Berserah diri kepada Allah swt. The only LORD of both worlds: the 

dunya and akhirat. The ONLY god! Allah al-Mighty 

But are we acting like one? DID we give our very best and

maximized our effort to seek his Mercy? 
Put the hereafter as our long term vision and goal? 

Obey all of the rules?

be the KHALIFAH in this Earth?

Perform you prayer (Solat) in full of humble as you are only His hamba?

Do all good things to people and remind them to remember Allah?

Have we fulfill our responsibility to our own brothers?

Questions to myself and the Muslim out there.

And a reminder to the Muslim as we always "BUSY"with 

our own dimension of world.

Being a Muslim is a  totally a "verb". Act like one.

NEVER too late to return to our CREATOR.
