Rewind: Off to RCSI, Ireland

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
In the name of Allah, the most merciful and compassionate

It has been a year since my last post in 2016.
Yeah, so lets rewind to the first moment when I stepped my feet on Ireland.

Our flight was on 7 am. So, my family and I arrived at the airport 3 hours earlier. Once arrived at the airport, I weighed my bag because 23kg is the only limit. It was my very first time to be in the Emirates plane. Thanks to my friend Najwa, as she woke up very early in the morning just to send me off to the departure gate. I really appreciate it dear.

Alhamdulillah, After almost 7 hours we transited for 5 hours in Dubai and continued another 7 hours journey. Praises all to Allah, after almost 21 hours of journey, on 3rd of September 2016, 8.55pm Ireland time , 17 MARA students finally arrived at the Dublin Airport. We met Cikgu Rahim, the MARA officer in Ireland and a few seniors from Persatuan Pelajar Islam Malaysia Ireland (PPIMI). The members of the society helped us with the accommodation and we headed to our houses by the chartered bus.

The next day, my senior walked with me to show the usual road they used to take to my college. At first, I could not remember as all building looks the same for me. It took almost 30 minutes by feet to my college. I was very excited, that I forgot I still in my jetlag " mood", Haha. Excuse my swollen face , maybe because It was pretty cold and rainy on that day.  So guys! Finally, I am here, in front of Royal College Surgeon In Ireland (RCSI). My university! I will spend the rest of my 2 and 1/2 years here, to seek the knowledge about human, the best creation in this world. Ya Allah please guide me to be the best doctor for Ummah and my country. Amin

So, this was the briefing for my course during the Fresher's week. One month of fresher's week was under RCSI program known as ' Passport for Success'. This program catered all the enquiries about studies and care for the students' wellbeing including time management, accommodation and personal tutor. Looking at the overview given, 101 lectures are kind of a lot. Haha, it seems that my time will be pretty much occupied with classes, tutorials, practicals, quizzes and ' card signing' as compared to my friend in University College Dublin (UCD) Get ready mira! Best conclusion is RCSI = KMB. Haha.

During the registration day, every RCSI student will get a Macbook Air as it is included in the fee

The best thing about RCSI, it is a Muslim- friendly college. There is halal food in the college's restaurant; the AK Henry restaurant and in the coffee doc. Moreover, there is a mosque at the basement with Jumaah prayer every Friday. Look at the gym time table, there is also a specific time for female. Wow that's great! Let's stay healthy girl!

So let's fast forward my story to May 2017. The picture was taken in front of anatomy class on the last day of semester 2 (JC2).

Alhamdulillah 'ala kulli hal. All praises to Allah for every nikmat that he gave to me. Thank you for his guidance throughout this 2 semesters. I have passed the first year examination with flying colours. Alhamdulillah! With the prayers from my family, friends and thank you to my dedicated studymates - the Mendes study group. Thank you girls for the time we spent together, in the library, in the friendship room (at the basement- RCSI main building), at the Stephen's green park, just to  learn the knowledge about me and you, about the human! Yeah!

My dad always say " Enjoy your college life, because it is only ONCE in your life!"
Yeah! You will never get this experience again. It is only once!

For future juniors, welcome to RCSI!!! Hope this post will light up your spirit and motivate you to do your best in your study in Ireland. =) Yes, I was just like you, I was very excited as my dream finally came true! I searched and watched every video about RCSI just to get the overview. =)

Don't forget to meet me at RCSI Islamic society (ISOC)  booth during your fresher's week =) And let's join our activity; and we also have special activity just for girls! Its gonna be a lot of fun during the week. See you all!

I will continue to post about my winter and summer trip in Spain and Europe. See ya

Cara Terjemah Dokumen Cap Jari Rosak(Translating document about damaged thumbprints)

Bismilaahirahmanirrahim

Today, I just wanna share important details when you have to translate personal documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, damaged thumprints)

1. You should make ANY Malaysia courts as your priority to translate your documents as interpreters have the authority given by the courts and their work is endorsed by the government📝
People usually face problem when they choose the private institute. (Certified issue)
So, I went to Mahkamah Sesyen/ Majistret Johor Bahru, Jalan Air Molek, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia because I need to translate document stating that I have damaged thumbprints from Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN).
The English version of document is really important for me as I am going to pursue my study in Ireland. Albeit I might face some problem in the Ireland airport if I dont show this document to the immigration.

First thing first! You have to know their Operating Hour

2. Make a call first to make sure the interpreters are available as they might get a lot of work ( you know.. court😅)
3. The interpreter deserve to set the price for translating your documents as it is based on his professionalism, time and personal effort. Btw.. there are no limit price. You might end up paying rm 100 for each document! It depends on your rezeki

From my previous reading, usually the translating process take almost one week but my document done just in one day! Alhamdulillah! Thanks to the Malay Interpreter in this court. May Allah swt bless you.
I am glad to share this experience to you guys as it was my first time going to the court. Seeing the environment.

Passport di Jabatan Imigresen Johor Setia Tropika dan Masalah Cap Jari Rosak

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Saya ingin berkongsi pengalaman semasa membuat passport di Jabatan Imigresen Johor Setia Tropika yang terletak di Kempas, Johor. Berikut merupakan maklumat dan saranan yang perlu diambil perhatian.

Alamat
Kompleks KDN Negeri Johor
Jalan Setia Tropika
Taman Setia Tropika
81200 Kempas
Johor
Jabatan terletak di
Blok 1, Aras 3
No. Tel
07-233 8400

Waktu operasi

(sila refer gambar instead of website :
click this  )
Ahad- Rabu
07.45 pagi – 4.30 petang

Khamis
07.45 pagi – 3.00 petang

Waktu Rehat
12.45 petang- 1.45 petang

Tutup
Jumaat, Sabtu, Cuti Umum

Maaf tak berapa clear.. sebab beratur panjang kan.

Day 1 : Sistem Offline?

Situasi
Jam menunjukkan pukul 3 petang.
Kawasan lenggang.
Tak ada orang beratur di kaunter ambil no giliran.
Rupanya sistem offline dan dalam keadaan mantainence!

Penyelesaian
Pegawai imegresen beri senarai cawangan jabatan imegresen di Johor dan minta kita telefon dahulu untuk  tahu keadaan.

Advice
Untuk apa- apa urusan. Telefon dahulu sebelum pergi. Jimat masa tenaga dan minyak kereta.

Day 2 : Cap jari rosak!

Situasi

Steps:
1. BERATUR UNTUK NO. GILIRAN

Sudah ada org beratur di depan kaunter untuk ambil no giliran pada pukul 1.00 pm.
Kaunter tutup sebab waktu rehat. Akan mula operasi start jam 1.45pm

So people start lining up! Siapa cepat dia dapat!
2. DOKUMEN NEEDED UNTUK AMBIL NO GILIRAN

 - Above 18 : Only IC
-  Below 18 (Teenageer & Kids)
  • Kad Pengenalan Asal + 1 salinan
  • Sijil Kelahiran Asal + 1 salinan
  • Kad Pengenalan asal ibu/ bapa or both + 1 salinan
  • Ibu bapa must be there with their children

This is the evidence as we often get confuse with all the documents needed.

 3. PERGI KE ARAS 3 BY LIFT

So you have to wait until your number is Up!
4. PROBLEM : CAP JARI ROSAK

So, pegawai kata kedua- dua cap ibu jari saya rosak ( dah tak ada bunganya). Jadi saya perlu buat passport tanpa cap jari.

6. PASSPORT DONE

- Pergi ke bangunan imegresen
- Beri  salinan dokumen pengenalan sementara di kaunter buat passport
- Bayar di kaunter lain ( Saya dapat half price RM 100 kerana berikan salinan surat tawaran MARA & surat tawaran universiti)
- Letak resit di kaunter resit
- Tunggu dalam 1 jam untuk passport siap
- Lastly ambil di kaunter pengutipan passport!

Advice
  1. Penting untuk tahu waktu rehat.
  2. Better pergi buat passport waktu  hari bekerja (Ahad- Khamis) dan bulan (Januari- Julai) sebab bulan Ogos ramai pergi menunaikan haji dan holiday with family. *I have once went there on November, beratur tersangat panjang.. tunggu 2 jam setengah hanya untuk dapat no giliran.
  3. Evening session after waktu rehat, selalunya ada limit no giliran. I am not sure how many people are allowed to do the passport. Sila datang awal sejam untuk beratur di kaunter ambil no.
  4. Better prepare all the documents and SALINAN from home.  Dekat imegresen ni ada je kedai photostat but i am afraid it might close.

Hopefully this post help you untuk buat PASSPORT di Jabatan Imigresen
Johor Setia Tropika yang terletak di Kempas, Johor.
